London 10 Peaks Challenge

Discover ten of London’s often hidden peaks on this new marathon distance challenge on your doorstep. Be part of a fun and supportive team to uncover some alternative UK ‘summits’ that are surprisingly close to home.

You will travel a good distance on the popular ‘London Loop’ footpath, journeying over a remarkable variety of terrain and uncovering a different side to London.

The trek will take you through beautiful woodland, thriving nature reserves and quieter spaces. Enjoy the unexpected views and chance encounters with local wildlife, such as green woodpeckers and muntjac deer. But keep one eye on those miles still to go...and that well-deserved pint at the end!

With a challenging 42km to conquer, this demanding trek will leave you with an immense sense of achievement knowing you have made a real difference to supporting your charity.

South Downs at Night

Push yourself to the limit on this unique nighttime trek through the South Downs National Park. Following part of the famous South Downs Way, you’ll battle fatigue, the elements and the demanding terrain of one of southern England’s newest national parks. You’ll negotiate the rolling chalk hills and cliff tops that lie between Firle Beacon and Beachy Head.

Walking until morning, you’ll cover a marathon distance of 42km, including the famous white cliffs of the Seven Sisters, before ending your gruelling hike on top of England’s highest chalk cliffs. In 2016 the National Park was granted International Dark Sky Reserve status, making it one of the best places in the country to view the night sky. As dawn breaks, your hard work will be rewarded with breath-taking views across the South Downs.

Lake District 5 Peaks Challenge

This challenge runs over just one day, but with five peaks to tackle it’s certainly no walk in the park! Prepare for an exhausting but energising journey through the rugged and dramatic landscape of the Lake District, as you venture across 14 miles (22km) and tackle five of England’s most demanding peaks, including its highest – Scafell Pike. The group will climb to over 3,000 feet (900m), crossing crags and moorland past the Langdale Pikes towards Scafell.

The Edinburgh 7 Summits Challenge

Discover hidden parts of one of the world’s most stunning cities all while challenging yourself over a tough 35km trek that includes 900m of ascent. Based in the heart of Edinburgh the trek will take you to the summit of Edinburgh’s 7 hills that surrounded the city. You’ll follow historic waterways, forgotten railways, stop off at castles and palaces and climb to the summit of an extinct volcano!

With a challenging 35km and 900m of ascent to conquer this challenge is a significant test of your endurance and will leave you with a real sense of achievement.

West Highland Way Challenge

The West Highland Way is one of the UK’s most popular long-distance trekking routes. Charity Challenge have created this incredible, fully supported multi-day trekking challenge that will see you complete the entire 154km through the spectacular landscape of the Scottish Highlands.

Beginning just outside Glasgow there are seven tough days of trekking before you get to celebrate your accomplishments at Fort William, the foot of Ben Nevis. Capture amazing photographs of the West Highland Way's finest scenery including Loch Lomond, Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. With fully qualified mountain leaders, a fantastic camp crew and full luggage transfers you’ll have all the support you need to complete this incredible challenge.

Isle of Skye Challenge

The dramatic volcanic landscapes of the Isle of Skye are steeped in myth and adventure. With ridgelines prized by mountaineering heroes, Skye’s awe-inspiring summits, coastline and incredible rock formations are on the bucket list of all true adventurers.

In one of the last remaining outposts of genuine wilderness in the UK, this challenge will see you undertake four days of trekking as you discover hidden lochs, ascend the UK’s most challenging mountain range – the Black Cuillin – and trek through remote glens to unlock spectacular secret corners of the captivating ‘Misty Isle’.

Based in the heart of Skye, you’ll stay in the picturesque fishing village of Portree - our ‘basecamp’ for the challenge and launchpad for the adventure ahead. We’ve even included a coach transfer to and from Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, which is well served by flights and trains from across the UK.

With fully qualified walking leaders you’ll have all the support you need to tackle this daring new challenge and make memories to last a lifetime.

National Three Peaks Challenge

Brace yourself for a fast-paced and physically challenging adventure, as you take on the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. Considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m).

Over the course of two days, you will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m. This is a serious and tough challenge which requires a good level of fitness, as well as plenty of grit and determination. Ultimately, however, your hard work will be rewarded with spectacular views and a huge sense of achievement.

London Royal Parks Challenge

Take part in this tough 1-day urban challenge that takes you right through the heart of London. With a challenging distance of 45km to cover, this challenge is a fantastic test of your stamina and will leave you with an incredible sense of achievement.

Your first ‘Royal Park will be Bushy Park before we follow the River Thames to Richmond Park. The route takes us straight across historic parkland and beautiful green spaces before we cross the river again and head into Chelsea. Little known Brompton Cemetery is our next Royal Park before we reach the beautiful Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park. Continuing on through Green Park we pass the iconic Buckingham Palace and reach St James's Park, our seventh Royal Park. We make our way to Westminster and Victoria Tower Gardens before heading north to our ninth Royal Park, Regent's Park. With just one more Royal Park to reach we follow Regent’s Canal east before crossing the river to reach Greenwich Park. By the end of the challenge, you will have visited each of the 10 ‘Royal Parks’.

Welsh 3000s Challenge

If you are looking for your next adventurous challenge in the mountains then this is it. Long known as a classic challenge amongst serious mountain walkers Charity Challenge have worked hard to create an itinerary to test the most experienced challenge participant.

This exhilarating, extremely challenging and hugely rewarding challenge will have you trekking over the highest mountains in Wales over a sustained two-day period. 

The Welsh 3000 Challenge sees participants climb all 15 peaks over 3000ft (910m) in Wales (including the highest Snowdon).  As you link all of these peaks together you can expect to cover just over 45 kilometres (30 miles).

This is a real mountain challenge and should not be taken lightly.  The terrain is extremely varied involving some steep ascents and descents, long distances and little sleep.  A challenge suitable for those who are physically fit and who are already experienced walkers.

Hadrian's Wall runs across the north of the UK from coast to coast and remains one of the largest ancient monuments in Northern Europe. You will trek in the footsteps of the Roman Empire and take in some of this extraordinary structure that protected the Roman armies from the Scottish.
